Our Work
 |  WHY VLI > OUR WORK

A standard client list is nice and all, but as important as the normal day-to-day assignments are, we think it's more revealing to see where an organization turns to handle the sign language interpreting and CART services for their premier events. Especially events for which those services are not considered just an "accommodation" but are fundamental to the success of the event itself.

Here is a partial list of some of our "premier" work:    (Click on Logo below)

Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID)

  National Conference
  San Antonio, TX - July 10 - 15, 2005
  San Francisco, CA – August 3 - 8, 2007

As the national professional organization and certifying body for sign
language interpreters, RID expects conference interpreting services
of the highest caliber. VLI was selected as the first company to
provide interpreting services for RID's national conference in 2005,
and we were honored to have been asked to build on that success
by coordinating their next conference in San Francisco in 2007.

National Association of the Deaf (NAD)

  Biennial Conference
  Kansas City, MO – July 5 - 10, 2004
  Palm Desert, CA – June 29 - July 3, 2006

In an historical partnership, VLI became the first company invited to
coordinate interpreters for the NAD's Biennial Conference in 2004.
We assembled a team of 30 interpreters, coordinated all pre-conference
positive and on-site logistics, and delivered it all under budget. Due to
the outcome of that effort, VLI was selected to coordinate both sign
language interpreting and CART services for NAD's 2006 conference,
which was also a resounding success.

Conference of Interpreter Trainers

  National Convention
  Washington, DC -- September 29 - October 2, 2004

As the national organization for sign language interpreter trainers, CIT
recognizes excellence in interpreting. The selection of VLI as the first
company in CIT's history to provide and coordinate interpreting services
for their national convention, distinguishes us from our competition.

Alexander Graham Bell Assoc. for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing

  National Conference
  Anaheim, California -- June 22 - 30, 2004

Recognizing the ease and convenience of having all their communication
access needs coordinated by one company, AG Bell selected VLI. Our
team of 20 transliterators, interpreters, and writers – combined with
pre-conference consultation and on-site coordination – led to the
successful delivery of communication access to all areas of the
  conference.

Deaf Way II

  International Convention
  Washington, DC -- July 8 - 13, 2002

Deaf Way II, an historic gathering of over 10,000 people who are
Deaf and Hard of Hearing, invited VLI to participate in the coordination
of over 350 interpreters and transliterators utilizing various signed
  languages from around the world.
